Reclaim Your Health!

Live a life of significance …

For several weeks now you’ve been receiving a couple of emails per week from me with an article, tip and a couple of recipes. TODAY, I want you to hear Abel James and how he reclaimed his health at 50+ years old.

One of the most frustrating things for anyone trying to eat healthy is the amount of misinformation out there. Depending on who you listen to, the advice varies widely, and the disagreements come from all directions — doctors, researchers, nutritionists, food manufacturers and health food suppliers.

What we’ve all learned is just because something is marketed as healthy doesn’t mean that it is. Low-fat doesn’t mean it’s good for you. And what about the debate over everything from eggs to the type of milk you drink?

Abel James felt the same frustrations. He was gaining weight and needed to make a change. So he went to his doctor who prescribed a low-fat diet. It simply did not work. “You know what’s crazy?” he remembers. “I was exercising, running 30 miles a week and dieting harder than ever, and instead of feeling better I was hungry all the time, kind of sluggish, and looked at myself in the mirror and realized this isn’t working.”

Abel “fired” his doctors, the ones who prescribed a heart-healthy diet, and embarked on a journey of discovery. “My brother was into bodybuilding and I noticed that some of those guys were eating 36 eggs a day, chugging heavy whipping cream and drinking a gallon of milk.”

So since the low fat diet wasn’t working he decided to do the opposite. The result changed his life. “I couldn’t believe it,” he remembers. “I lost 20 pounds in 40 days, the fat just came off.”

He decided to share what he’s learned and in the process has become a best-selling author and host of the award-winning The Fat-Burning Man Show, one of the most downloaded podcasts in the world.

Abel’s message is that the biggest favor we can do for ourselves is to stop eating anything that’s processed.

“We think we’re doing the right thing having a whole wheat bagel for breakfast but it’s really not much different than a donut. They are processed grains, and if you really want to get healthy and lose weight you have to stay away from sugar and processed grains.”
