Tim McGraw Talks Stunning Physical Transformation in New ‘Grit & Grace’ Book

Country singer Tim McGraw has been in the public eye for 25 years. He’s had hits like “Live Like You Were Dying” and maintained a long-term marriage to fellow Nashville superstar Faith Hill.

And in recent years, he’s made a stunning physical transformation right before our eyes – from porky partier to shredded Adonis.

Now McGraw, 52, has written a book about his fitness journey from chunk to hunk.

“Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life” will be out in the fall. The publisher promises it “melds his personal fitness transformation story with practical advice to inspire healthy changes in readers’ lives.”

McGraw says getting in crazy-great shape ignited a whole-life transformation. “My mind is clearer, my sense of purpose is sharper, and my relationships are deeper. Consistent physical exercise helps me bring focus to my life and to the people who mean the most to me.”

Over the years of working and raising a family, McGraw reached a point where his on-the-road lifestyle, and the drinking that often goes with it, started taking a toll. Loved ones talked to him about his drinking. He knew he had to make a change.

“It wasn’t like I was trying to lose 40 pounds, I was just wanting to get healthy,” he says. “For me, it is more about feeling good and being where I want to be physically and on stage.”

He says the book will show how he did it. That includes his now-famous dedication to intense workouts. But he says there’s no simple, cookie-cutter approach, just commitment and accountability.

Sounds like an ideal segue to another McGraw hit, “My Next Thirty Years.”
